Microsoft has launched the latest version of its popular web browser, Internet Explorer 9 (IE9), to compete with its contemporary rivals Mozilla’s Firefox and Google`s Chrome.
Earlier, Microsoft’s browser has gone through a sharp criticism regarding its security flaws. But with its latest release of IE6, the company claims that its security and features will able to change users` perception while browsing the net.
The new browser IE9 allows websites to look more like applications like Smartphones. Microsoft claims that IE9 uses a single box for web addresses, searching and users’ web history following a cleaner interface. Also, it comes with direct integration with social networking sites and system controls such as music playing.
Targeting the book lovers, the speed of the browser also allows Amazon present an enhanced version of its site that mixes the web with the feel of a real-world bookshop.
IE9 also supports incoming global web standards, such as HTML5 for web developers to create rich web sites with graphics and video. The browser comes with a new feature, Pinned Sites, by which the user can access his favorite site directly from the Windows Taskbar, without opening the browser.
Currently IE9 is available in a public beta version, in more than 30 languages.
