M K Stalin the Deputy Chief Minister of Tamilnadu has been touring Tiruvannamalai district since Saturday. Stalin was inaugurating combined drinking water scheme at Kilpennathur. The estimated cost of the project is 14 Crores.The Deputy Chief Minister said that DMK government always gave priority to Drinking Water Supply schemes. It was Kalaignar who launched Tamilnadu Water Supply and Drainage Board during his first term in 1971.
M K Stalin further added that the it was DMK government that resolved to solve the chronic drinking water problem of Ramanathapuram district. The projects were completed before deadlines with the encouragement from the Chief Minister. The Government has taken up the long-pending Hogenakkal project and the Deputy Chief Minster added that it would be completed much earlier.
The Deputy Chief Minister, M K Stalin was also distributing revolving fund to 1,500 SHGs and advised the women to enroll themselves into the SHGs as it provides good opportunity to be developed into a disciplined and organized movement.
M K. Stalin further inaugurated 98 buildings constructed at a cost of Rs. 44.24 crore and unveiled plaques of another 35 projects. He also distributed benefits to the extent of Rs.22.62 crore under various schemes to 4,652 persons.
M K Stalin, the Deputy Chief Minister, earlier attended a seminar on Industrial development and employment opportunities in Tamil Nadu at SKP Engineering College. In his speech Mr. Stalin said that Tamil Nadu had attracted investment to the tune of Rs.3, 300 crores after his recent tour of China and Korea.
