Sales of the Tamil Nadu Government’s low-cost cement are set to start today.
This scheme will be extended throughout Tamil Nadu.
The sales of cement at the price of Rs. 190/- poer bag is set to start today from the 5 godowns owned by the Tamil Nadu Consumer Trade Corporation in Trichy.
The sales will be gradually extended throughout Tamil Nadu through 470 godowns.
The state government plans to procure 2 lakh metric tons of cement from private manufacturers.
The buyers can get a recommendation from the Village Administrative Officer, Revenue Officer, Panchayat Union Supervisor, or Road Researcher or the approved plan of construction.
Under the scheme, a minimum of 50 cement bags for an an area of 100 sq ft and a maximum of 750 cement bags for an area of 500 sq ft are offered.
For renovation or repair construction, up to 100 bags of low-cost cement can be bought.
