Healthy Food Recipes - Capsicum Gravy!

Ingredients
  • Capsicum – 200 grams
  • Onion – 2 nos
  • Tomato – 3 nos
  • Garlic – 5 cloves
  • Fried gram – 2 spoon
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ spoon
  • Sambhar Powder- 1 spoon
  • Salt – as required
  • Cooking oil – 3 spoon
  • Curry leaves – a few
  • Coriander leaves – a few
  • Mustard seeds – ½ spoon
  • Fennel Seeds – ½ spoon (Optional)
Method:
  1. Grind the fried gram in a mixer to a fine powder without adding water and transfer it in a bowl.
  2. Cut Capsicum, onion, tomato into a small pieces.


  3. Heat a pan with 3 spoons of oil and add mustard seeds and allow it to splutter.
  4. Then add the minced garlic and the curry leaves.



  5. Now add the chopped onion and the capsicum. Saute it well for about 5 minutes. Once it gets boiled well, add the chopped tomato. Saute it until the tomato shrinks and the raw smell leaves.



  6. Then add the required salt, turmeric powder, Sambar powder and mix well. 



  7. Add required quantity of water and stir well.
  8. Close the lid and allow it to boil for some time.
  9. Then open the lid and add the fried gram powder. (You can refrigerate this powder and use it whenever needed).



  10. Allow it to blend well for about 5 minutes and switch off the flame.
  11. Sprinkle the chopped coriander leaves for garnishing. 



  12. Hot Capsicum Masala is ready and serve it hot as a side dish for Chapatti!





Note:
  • Just store the fried gram powder in the fridge and you can very well add this in any type of gravy which you are preparing for chapatti, it will give a thicker consistency to the gravy.
  • While adding the fried gram powder, simultaneously keep on stirring it, so as to avoid the formation of cramps.
  • If you adore the masala taste, then add a spoon of fennel seed powder to the gravy.
