2 Lakhs Nochi plants distributed in the drive for mosquito removal!

Chennai is a city suffering from acute mosquito problems.
Chennai Corporation has been distributing Nochi plants free from last year. The plants are distributed through the Corporation ward offices.
The distribution of Nochi plants was stopped during the parliamentary election period as per the rules.
Distribution has been resumed after the election.
Over the last 5 months, 2.04 lakh Nochi plants have been distributed.
Chennai Corporation had planned distribution of 5 lakh Nochi plants in the 1st Phase. With 2 lakh plants already distributed, plans are afoot for the distribution of the balance 3 lakh plants.
