Mahashivarathri is celebrated at Isha Yoga Centre during February/March of each year. The special nature of the day and the night of Mahashivarathri present us with a unique opportunity to make use of the forces of nature for our well-being. Also in the yogic lore this night celebrates the Grace of Shiva, who is considered the Adi Guru or the First Guru, from whom the yogic tradition originates.

At the celebration grounds, the festivities begin with chanting by Isha Brahmacharies of Nirvana Shatakam – a chant written by Adi Shankracharya over a millennium ago. This is followed by Sadhguru leading the audience through several preparatory spiritual processes.
