How to apply for a new electricity connection?

In today’s life, thinking of a life without electricity is never possible. This is in fact necessary even during the construction of your home. Getting water for the construction is yet another troublesome process. Rather than running for water, it is better to go with drilling for a bore well. This in turn requires electricity which can be obtained from the government. What is the procedure to obtain such a temporary electricity connectivity? Here are the methods:
Where to apply?
You can obtain the application form from the Tamil Nadu power Generation, and Distribution division. The same can be applied at http://www.tangedco.gov.in/formgallery1.php
Required documents:
The applicant must be the owner of the place of construction or should have obtained an official permission from the owner through a letter. The Xerox copy of Patta and land’s document must be provided. Government official from the electricity board must confirm that the entire wiring for the complete building is done. These works must also be monitored by the government officials from electricity board.
Charges:
The charge would vary in accordance with the requirement of electricity, single phase or three phase. In case of presence of electric pole near the construction area, additional charges will be imposed. Also, the capacity of transformer need to be checked to know if the power demanded could be supplied from the same.
When all the documents are provided properly, the connection can be provided within a week or 30 days.
