Located in Nallathur, which is close to Tiruttani, the Sri Veeramangalam Anjaneya Temple was built in the 15th Century AD. According to legend the sage Sri Vyasaraja Swamigal was to observe the Chathura Masam Vrittam at Tirupati by performing Vyasa Pooja. But he could not reach the temple town at the river Kusaasthalai was flooded and he could not cross it. So the great saint built this temple. It is interesting to note that Sri Vysasaraja was the guru of the King Krishnadevaraya.
The presiding deity is Sri Veeramangalam Anjaneya. On his right hand is the ‘abhaya mudra’ and his left hand holds a lotus bud close to the chest. The lotus represents the Trishakthi - Saraswathi, Lakshmi and Durga - and symbolises vijaya, gyana and aishwarya. The Lord’s feet are adorned with two different kinds of anklets, and this arms with armlets.
Devotees come to the Lord to seek his blessings for suitable grooms for unmarried girls, prosperity for posterity, relief from sins, worries and pains and general happiness. The temple is open from 8am to 6pm.
