Jai Seetha Rama Anjaneya Namaha!
This is the chant for this very popular Hanuman temple. According to legend, when Sri Hanuman flew to the Sanjeevani mountain to procure the herb to cure Sri Lakshmana, Ravana sent Shani Bhagavan to stop him. After a prolonged fight, Sri Hanuman chanted the name of Sri Rama and stamped Shani Bhagvan who finally relented. Sri Hanuman also took an oath from Shani Bhagvan that even his shadow would not be cast on the devotee who chants the name of Sri Rama. Thus, those who are affected by Shani Dosham visit this temple. It is said that by lighting the lamp and circling the temple 9 times anti clockwise (apradakshanam), the effect of Shani can be reduced.
A 11 foot Sri Hanuman can be found in the sanctum sanctorum, with Shani Bhagvan under his feet. This temple is located in the Ambur village in Vellore District, Tamil Nadu.
