CII-SOUTHERN REGION INITIATIATES ‘EMPLOYABILITY BRIDGE

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Southern Region has launched ‘Employability Bridge` a major initiative to bring the academics ,Students and the Industry into one platform.
AMOU to this effect has been signed with Surge Forth Technologies. According Surge Forth Technologies it is Industry-academic collaboration and it is employability enhancement.
It is expected to be beneficial to large number of students. While 90 per cent of the industries want candidates with some level of skill, nine per cent want some knowledge. Only one per cent wants both skill and knowledge. Barely 25 per cent from Tier II and III towns meet the eligibility criteria whereas the rest are nowhere in the reckoning in terms of skill or knowledge.
The Features of the Employability Bridge is that it will provide Training on Industry-driven employability skills. The training include classroom sessions, e-learning, self-assessment, internship and project opportunities beside providing employability skills assessment and certification, placement aggregation services for enterprises and institutions, placement management and campus recruitment management.
