Fortis brings high-end Cardiac care to people of Dehradun

Fortis Healthcare Ltd, India’s fastest growing chain of hospitals, announces its plans to set up a Cardiac Centre at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya (Coronation) Hospital at Dehradun under a Public Private Partnership (PPP) with the Government of Uttarakhand. The state-of-the-art facility would be the first Comprehensive Cardiac care facility in Dehradun. The move is in line with Fortis’ strategy of penetrating into India’s tier II cities to provide high levels of clinical quality and compassionate patient care. The addition of this facility takes the Fortis network to a total of 55 hospitals with over 8,000 beds across the Country.
Under the arrangement, Fortis will invest in infrastructure and technology. The proposed facility will have high end CCU, Cath Lab, Cardiac OT, Non Invasive Diagnostic Lab and Intensive Care Unit for Cardiac Surgery. The initial phase of the contract shall be for a period of 10 years.
With its well established brand equity and distinctive patient centric operating system, Fortis shall offer quality Cardiac care to patients from across society. The facility is expected to become operational by November 2011 and will fill a void in the healthcare infrastructure of the state capital of Uttarakhand.
