CM visits North Chennai

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalitha visited Dr. Radhakrishnan Nagar, or R.K. Nagar, on Monday. R. K. Nagar is her constituency. She also visited other areas in North Chennai to see how the rains have affected them, assuring people that the government will work towards returning normalcy.
Ms. Jayalalitha visited Veeraraghavan Street in New Washermenpet, Elayamudali Street, Seeniamman Koil Street in Tondiarpet, Ennore highway , Korukkupett, JJ Nagar, Sunambu Kalvai Road, Ezhil Nagar, Kolathur and other areas.
Tondiarpet in North Chennai has been one of the worst affected. Almost 200 people were evacuated from their home. Water was neck deep inside ground floor homes. Those who have been rescued have been moved to Seniamman Koil Street`s Corporation Primary School. One of the residents said, Local councillors had offered help by organising food and water. Amma came here just now. She has promised help but they are offering compensation only for 150 families. There are more than 400 families here.
