Rains to continue in Tamil Nadu

A low depression has formed in South West Bay of Bengal near Sri Lanka. Because of this the Chennai Meteorological Centre has mentioned that the rains will continue in Tamil Nadu. The highest rainfall recorded in Papanasam is 18 cms and in Tambaram is 17 cms.  
 
Chennai Meteorological Centre director Ramanan has mentioned that the rainfall recorded in Tamil Nadu so far is 48 cms. The rainfall recorded is more than ever.
 
Yesterday`s trough of low pressure over Southwest Bay and adjoining equatorial Indian Ocean now lies over Southwest Bay and adjoining Srilanka Coast.
 
Rain or thundershowers would occur at a few places over Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
 
As far as Chennai is concerned the sky condition would be generally cloudy. Rain or thundershowers may occur in some areas. Maximum and minimum temperature would be around 31 and 25 deg Celsius respectively.
