Posted on: 27/Jan/2016 2:28:59 PM
A three day development seminar is under way for the visually challenged. Organised by the Tamil Nadu Association of the Blind, the seminar is to educate the visually challenged youth about study grants and work life after college. The seminar started on Republic Day.

Speaking about this, an official from the Tamil Nadu Association of the the Blind said, We are trying to help visually challenged students and degree holders from the southern region. This will help them prepare on topics like education, law, psychology and employment after studies. It will also help them know the facilities given by the government and how to make use of these. The programme includes preparation for banking exams, first aid, introduction to RTE, and responsibilities of the rehabilitation council of India. Government schemes and information about various UGC grants, challenges and job prospects for the visually-challenged youth are also covered.
