HSBC Survey: 61 percent employees above the age of 45 are mentally ready to retire

Job tensions & stress, the way how it affects the physical health, etc have constrained 61 percent of  the employees over the age of 45 years to declare, Enough is enough I am ready to quit in 5 years time.

This has been brought out by a survey undertaken by HSBC bank.

However, various critical factors that requirement of money to pull along in life, other financial problem, fear about unsettle lifestyle, the circumstances compelling to be in job, etc make most of the employees to keep continuing in their job about the struggle and stress and despite all the mental & physical reluctance.

Highlights of the survey

If the right opportunity comes, two-thirds of employees are ready to quit their jobs.

Argentina is the country where maximum percentage of employees - 78 percent - is afflicted with this mental status. France (77 percent), China (75 percent), Britain (75 percent), Australia (74 percent), and Canada(74 percent) are the countries which follow Argentina.      

The minimum percentage of employees with quitting mental status are from countries like Egypt (15 percent), UAE (United Arabian Emirates (29 percent), and Hong Kong (57 percent).

This survey was conducted in 17 countries referring 18000 persons.

Here are some of the answers when asked the question, What do you plan to do after your retirement?
  • 15 percent answered they would enjoy a world-round trip.
  • 44 percent answered that they would spend more quality time with their families.
  • 39 percent simply answered that they would simply stretch their limbs, relax, and enjoy.
  • 64 percent answered that they have not still saved enough money.
  • 52 percent answered that they have a lot of persons dependent on them.
  • 24 percent responded that they have huge debts to clear.
