RCF manufactures coaches for super-fast trains

The coaches for the superfast trains are set to be manufactured in Kapurthala, Punjab.
An official from the Ministry of Railways informed that the coaches with the latest technology are to be manufactured for the super-fast trains project.
These coaches will be manufactured in RCF (Railway Coach Factory) located in Kapurthala, Punjab.
These coaches will be linked to engines moving at a speed of about 200 km per hour.
In the 1st phase, 2 air-conditioned coaches and 2 Executive-class coaches have been manufactured and ready for use. These are to be introduced in public service in the month of March.
Automatic doors are fitted in these coaches just like the Metro Rail Coaches. The coaches are made to prevent entry of dust & external heat from entering. The latest braking system suitable for high-speed trains is fitted in these coaches.
Each coach is manufactures at a cost of Rs 3.25 Crores. As per plans, 20 new coaches will be manufactured at RCF. This comprises of 14 air-conditioned coaches and 3 Executive-class coaches, 4 coaches are ready. The rest will be manufactured by June.
Until now, coaches withstanding up to the speed of 160 kmper hour were only manufactured in India.
In these new high-speed coaches, fire-fighting equipment, fire-alarm systems, etc are added features.
