One of the leading youth theatre groups in the city Theatre Nisha will commemorate William Shakespeare`s 400th death anniversary with four back to back new productions - Rashmi Rathi, Amrapali, Solladi Sivashakthi and Asghar.
Rashmi Rathi: Written by Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, it is Karna`s story from the Mahabharatha in verse. Language: Tamil
Amrapali: Written by V. Balakrishnan, it is the story of the prettiest woman in Vaishali, who is touted to be the state bride, and remains so till she meets the Buddha. Language: English
Sollad Sivashakthi: Written by Andal Priyadarshini, it is a collection of four stories reflecting the effect of patriarchy on women and the God. Language: Tamil
Asghar: Written by Asghar Wajahat, it is a collection of ten stories that satirically comment on society, culture, religion, politics, science et al. Language: Hindi
