Start of the Southwest monsoon rains: Meteorological Centre info

The Chennai Meteorological centre has informed that the onset of the southwest monsoon rains may be on 4th or 5th June.
Though the hottest period of the summer Kathiri veyil was over on 28th May, the scorching impact of the severe summer still continues in most places.
The Chennai Meteorological Centre explained that as the setting in of the sea-breeze gets delayed, the impact of the severe summer continues.
However, it has rained in a few places due to the thermal convection formed a few days ago.
Due to the thermal convection, there are prospects of rain in the next 24 hours in a few places.
