UGC has instructed to set up a review panel to discuss all the proposals made by the centre’s 7th pay commission for faculties in colleges and universities. Necessary works to implement these recommendations by 7th pay commission are taking place in full swing. Likewise, UGC that is functional under the ministry of HRD takes under consideration the experience and many other factors of college and university faculties to implement these recommendations.
For many years now, these recommendations have not been implemented by the UGC. Across the country, all the university and college faculties are expecting hike in salary.
At this juncture, a review panel headed by member Soukan is to be soon set up. This consists of professor of institute of development studies, Duraisami; professor of Delhi School of Economics, Ramsingh; retired IAS, Pande; minister of HRD, joint secretary of ministry of HRD Praveen Kumar.
This committee is instructed to submit a report on this in next six months. Speaking about this, the ex-vice chancellor of Periyar university Muthuchezhiyan said this review panel is set after several years. A report is to be set in another six months. All the flaws with the previous pay commission are changed and suggestions from all faculties of colleges and universities are taken under consideration for this new pay commission, he said.
