The central government has announced a new 24-hour helpline telephone number for making complaints on power failure or electricity-related problems.
Currently.all complaints regarding power-connection, Power-cut, and fault in electricity by consumers/customers have to be made to the complaint telephone numbers given by the respective state governments and the Electricity Boards.
Even while making complaints, it is quite common that there are delays in attending to these complaints. Thus, the electricity consumers are put to hardship.
In an attempt to solve this problem, the central government has introduced a new single number , 1912, throughout the country to make complaints regarding electricity.
The central electricity minister, Mr. Piyush Goyal, inaugurated the facility of a new single complaint telephone number ‘1912’ which will function 24-hours a day.
When dialing this number, the call will go the respective state government departments or the central government control room. Complaints can be registered then. The service personnel from the nearest electricity office will be immediately dispatched to the complaint spot.
Further, the details regarding the complaint made and the status can be seen on the website and a special Mobile App.
The moment the complaint call is made, the data regarding the nature of the complaint, the time of the complaint, the severity of the problem, etc will be registered. The central government is set to monitor and handle this system.
So, it is expected that the new complaint service for electricity, 1912, would be extremely useful and beneficial to the electricity consumers.
