Unemployed can now apply for unemployment assistance

Chennai District Collector K Govindaraj has announced that those of the unemployed people who have registered with employment exchange can apply for unemployment assistance.
 
In a statement he has mentioned: Unemployment Assistance is given to those who are waiting on the Live Registers of Employment Exchanges without a job for at least 5 years. The maximum age limit is 40 years for others and 45 years SC/ST. The assistance is given for three years subject to eligibility conditions like family income should not be more than Rs.50, 000 per annum. The Registrants should not a bonafide student of any School / College and the Registrants should not employed in Government / Private or Self Employed. An amount of Rs.100 for SSLC failed, Rs.150 for SSLC passed, Rs.200 for HSC passed and Rs.300 for Graduates per month is paid to beneficiaries. Those of who have failed 10th standard can get the applications from Nandanam District Employment Exchange. Those who have passed 10th, Plus 2 and graduates who have registered can get the application forms from Santhome District Employment Exchange.
