New amendment in the civil aviation policy for the benefit of air passengers

The Union Government has decided to make a new amendment in the civil aviation policy in order to benefit the air passengers. Based on the public opinions, three important recommendations are to be made by the Civil Aviation Department.  They are as follows:
 
Airlines will have to refund all taxes, fees including airport fees and passenger services fees for non-utilization of tickets or no show.
 
If airlines don’t give alternate flight to a passenger within one hour of cancellation of original scheduled flight, an amount equal to 200 percent of booked one-way base fare plus fuel surcharge upto a maximum of Rs.10,000 will be payable. This is if the airline arranges for a flight within the first 24 hour period.

If passenger does not opt for alternate flight refund of full fare and 400 percent of base fare as compensation upto maximum of Rs.20,000 will have to be paid by airlines.
 
Airlines and airports to strengthen its facilities for people with disabilities such as making it easier to book special seats.
