The Tamil Nadu Government keeps making changes in syllabus for every five years, comprehending with the changing time period. It has been nine years since the present syllabus for class 11 and 12 were framed.
Hence the Tamil Nadu government has decided to structure a new syllabus for these classes. This is handed over to the school education department, state council of educational research and training by the DPI. A team headed by former professor of Anna University, Nagabooshana Rao will thus frame the syllabus for class 11 and 12.
There will be three experts for each and every subject while framing the syllabus. The syllabus will be prepared for 18 topics for class 11 and 18 for class 12.
A meet was organized to know the opinions of the public and education experts. There were notable opinions given by them too. This syllabus was published in the web in 2013 and opinions were requested. The best suggestions were taken under consideration based on which the final syllabus was formed. This is now set for approval by the government.
If the present syllabus for class 11 and 12 gets changed in the next academic year, the syllabus for class 11 will get changed in 2017-18 and in 2018-19 for class 12. The Tamil Nadu government is taking decisions on the change of syllabus.
