Average data speed that telcos must offer to consumers - TRAI to decide

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has decided to fix the average data speed that telcos must offer to consumers with the aim for better surfing speeds on mobile phones.
At a time when the usages of smartphones are increasing, the usage of internet is also increasing, but there is allegation that telcos are not providing proper speeds.
In view of the foregoing, TRAI has launched a mobile app which will check internet speed in real-time on their handsets as also it announced to come out with a consultation process for fixing the quality of service norms for wireless data soon. The mobile app will send the data automatically on TRAI’s analytics portal, where anybody can see the data.
MySpeed app is available on Android and checks Internet speeds both on Wi-Fi and cellular data.
