Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) distributing companies have mentioned that LPG consumers will not get LPG subsidy effective from July 1 for not linking their Aadhaar Card numbers with banks.
On the directions of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, three LPG distributing agencies HPCL, BPCL and IOC have conveyed to their retail fuel dealers that the action plan of giving LPG subsidy to only those who have seeded their Aadhaar has started from July 1.
Subsidy for the bank transfer compliant (BTC) customers who have not seeded Aadhaar will be kept on hold till September 30, after which the parked subsidy will lapse and the customers will not be eligible for subsidy of the refills consumed after October 1 till they submit the Aadhaar number to their LPG distributor.
