In the current system, the airline companies recover the additional charges whenever a flight ticket is cancelled after reservation.
A new regulation which prevents this is being introduced and will be effective from 1st August.
The Directorate of Air Traffic Control has informed that the cancellation charges by the airlines is more than the base fare and the fare for the fuel.
The new regulations to be introduced by the Directorate of Air Traffic Control ensure that the airlines do not recover the additional charges while cancelling booked tickets.
Once the new regulation is implemented, the system of the Airlines recovering additional charges for cancellation of reserved flight tickets will come to an end.
