Students of Alwyn International School recently got an opportunity to take pictures of places of their choice through a special camera mounted on an International Space Station (ISS)

The International Space Station (ISS) is a unique scientific platform that enables researchers from all over the world to put their talents to work on innovative experiments that could not be done anywhere else.

This is a NASA mission administered by Sally Ride Science. Students were also permitted to write messages for astronauts onboard the ISS, which will be compiled by SPACE and sent to the mission team. As a part of the programme, participants can log in to the website and request images from the camera mounted on the ISS. Over 100 high resolution colour images of different locations of earth were captured through ISS camera.

Astronomy educator from SPACE, A Prabhakaran explained to students that the ISS would make 16 orbits between a sunrise and sunset.
