Collector Sundaravalli has informed that applications are invited for housing loans to be given by the central government’s Housing Development scheme.

Residents of Thiruvallur, Thiruthani, Thiruverkau, Avadi, and Poonamallee belonging to the lower income group can apply for a housing loan from the central government’s ‘Houses for all’ scheme.
This scheme is being implemented all over the country. This is set to be implemented in 5 city administration centres in Thiruvallur districts.
A loan of Rs. 3 Lakhs will be offered to build houses of 323 sq ft for the low income group residents of the above localities whose annual income is less that Rs. 3 Lakhs.
In a similar way, for the people belonging to the annual income group between Rs. 3 Lakhs to Rs. 6 Lakhs, a loan of up to Rs. 6 Lakhs will be given to build a house of 646 sq ft.
6.5 percent interest is borne by the government. The applicants will have to pay the balance interest.The loan must be repaid within 15 years.
Interested residents may obtain the applications for housing loan from the respective corporation offices, fill up and submit.
The low-income group and the economically backward group can self-attest their income details and submit the application to the banks.
