Funds transactions can henceforth be done using smartphones. The Reserve Bank of India is soon set to launch this facility, said RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan. Speaking at an award event in Hyderabad, he said that a number of facilities are to be introduced as a move to encourage users who make online transactions.
There is significant increase in mobile phone usage in India. Hence, Payment Interface is set to be introduced so as to encourage funds transactions using smartphones. Raghuram Rajan added that in another one week, it will be far easier to make funds transactions. There is no need for any other device. A smartphone is all that you need, he added. This will mark an end to a number of troubles faced in banking transactions.
