Honda Unicorn 150 hits Indian markets again

The Unicorn 150 by Honda has come back to the Indian market this year. On popular demand, Honda has now introduced a BS IV-compliant version of the motorcycle. The Unicorn 150 does not get any cosmetic or mechanical upgrade, apart from the BS IV compliance, and is priced at Rs 69,305, which is the ex-showroom Delhi price.

The Unicorn 150 was replaced by the Unicorn 160 in 2015. But there has always been a demand for the previous version. The reducing share in the 150cc segment forced Honda to relaunch the Unicorn 150. The company had showcased the Unicorn 150 at 2016 Auto Expo. The move should prove fruitful as the Unicorn 150 now complies with Bharat Stage IV emission norms, making it environment-friendly.

The Honda CB Unicorn 150 has a 149cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The carburetted motor makes peak power of 13.3PS at 8,500rpm and delivers a peak torque of 12.84Nm at 5,500rpm. It also comes with other features like alloy wheels, telescopic front forks and 240mm front disc brake which remain unchanged. Honda continues to equip the Unicorn 150 with a monoshock suspension at the back, which is always a good thing.

Competitors of the Honda CB Unicorn 150 are Hero Achiever, Bajaj Discover 150 and Yamaha SZ-RR V2.0.
