Voters list in Tamil Nadu open to revision

The voters list was issued in Tamil Nadu today, the 1st September 2016. From today, works to make corrections or changes in the voters list will take place until 30th September. Those who are above 18 years of age can include their names in the voters list, make changes in the list, request for change of address and do other corrections or revisions until 30th September. Applications can be sent for the same. On 11th and 25th of September, special camps will be set up at polling booths to receive these applications.
The voters’ list can be viewed at www.elections.tn.gov.in. It will also be displayed at the office of municipal commissioner, tahsildar and polling booths. Voters can also search for their names at electoralservicessearch.azurewebsites.net. Applications can also be submitted online at the official website of election commission.
The respective voters’ list of Tirunelveli and Karur districts are respectively released too. The voters’ list here in Chennai was issued by the Chennai municipal commissioner, Karthikeyan. According to this, there are 39,87,359 voters in Chennai out of which 19,72,641 are men, 20,13,768 are women and 950 are transgenders.
