Software Freedom Day (SFD) is an annual worldwide celebration of Free Software. SFD is a public education effort with the aim of increasing awareness about the virtues of Free Software, and to encourage its use. In our college, CEGLUG and FSFTN collaborate to host Software Freedom Day, on 24th September 2016, from 10 am to 4 pm.
As a part of the celebrations, we’re having talks by various FOSS Enthusiasts on topics like Knowledge Commons, OpenStack, GNU Utilities, Security & Privacy, Rust, Fossonomics among other topics, Hands On Sessions on Securing Email, Encrypting hard-disk, etc, and Stalls put up by colleges students on a range of interesting topics, and other FOSS advocates.
