No leave will be granted to government staff during the monsoon season

The Tamil Nadu State Government has mentioned that officers and officials of the government offices should avoid going on leave during the north east monsoon season. In a press release of the Tamil Nadu Government has mentioned the following:
 
 Officials of police and fire and rescue departments should draw up an action plan as part of its initiative to take precautionary measures ahead of the northeast monsoon season.
 
 A District Disaster Management plan headed by each District Collectors was prepared, in which the police department and other stakeholders of the district administration would play a key role in the ensuing monsoon season.
 
Police personnel need to be trained and kept in readiness for deployment under short notice.
 
The Fire and Rescue department should chart out a plan of action under the District Disaster Management Plan in order to respond to any type of disaster.
 
Vulnerable areas should be identified and classified based on the nature of problems, while special attention has to be given to low-lying areas that are prone to flooding,
 
Officials should available upon short notice and they should avoid going on leave.
 
The Fire Services Control room should be linked to the District Emergency operations centre and will constantly be updated regarding weather and field conditions.
 
The police department should prepare a detailed traffic plan so that personnel and equipment can be moved to affected areas for emergency rescue and relief operation.
 
The police control room should be linked to Control Room of Greater Chennai Corporation and it will be constantly updated regarding weather conditions.
 
The officials must be sensitized on the importance of assigned responsibilities and it should be made clear that stringent action will be taken in case of any laxity
