Thirumangalam - Egmore underground metro rail operations to begin soon

Metro rail Commercial operations between Thirumangalam - Egmore underground section to begin by end of the year.
At a time when the underground tunneling and other allied works in the Thirumangalam - Egmore underground section have been completed, it has been decided to commence the commercial operations by end of the year.
Two tunnel boring machines (TBM) have drilled from the Nehru Park to Egmore. Meanwhile, several TBMs are tunneled the earth at various sites: Pachaippa’s college to Nehru Park, Shenoy Nagar and Kilpauk stations, Kilpauk to Shenoy Nagar station and Shenoy Nagar to Thirumangalam.
Very soon the Commissioner for Metro Rail Safety will inspect this section before giving his clearance.
