Chennai Meteorological Centre: Bright prospects of Heavy rain in Tamil Nadu

With the expected onset of Northeast monsoon, it has already rained in several parts of Tamil Nadu since the last few days.

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has announced that there will be heavy rains in Tamil Nadu in the next 24 hours.

The Director of the Chennai Meteorological Centre, Mr. S. Balachandran had a session with the press reporters. A brief on the same:

With the onset of the Northeast monsoon yesterday (Sunday, 30th October), it has been raining in several places in Tamil Nadu.The maximum rainfall of 12 cm has been recorded in Usumalaippettai.

A cyclonic layer has formed in the upper strata in the atmosphere over the section on Western Tamil Nadu adjacent to Kerala Border. Due to this, heavy rains are likely in the next 24 hours in several Southern districts and interior districts of Tamil Nadu. There is a prospect of heavy rain in one or two places.

It may rain in a few places in Northern districts of Tamil Nadu.There is a likelihood of rain in any one part of Chennai Metro.
