Price hike in subsidized LPG

On 1st November (Today) the subsidized cooking gas (LPG) is hiked in price by Rs 2 per cylinder. This is notably the fifth price hike in the past five months while there is 7.3 percent price hike of jet fuel.
 
The price of 14.2 kg cylinder will be priced Rs 430.64 in Delhi while the previous rate was Rs 428.59, as per state-owned oil firms. The aviation turbine fuel price was hiked from Rs 3,434.25 per kiloliter (kl) to Rs 50,260.63 per kl which is equivalent to 7.33 percent hike. It is the second largest straight increase while the previous price hike is 3.11 percent on 1st October.
 
As far as the subsidized LPG is concerned, this is the sixth such increase in price ever since the month of July when they took a call to make small hikes for about Rs 2 per bottle month on month in order to cut down the subsidy outgo. The last hike on LPG was made on 28th October by Rs 1.5 per cylinder for the commission hike given out to dealers.
 
The rate as hiked up to Rs 2.03 per cylinder last month on 1st October to Rs 427.09. Earlier, there was one more price hike on 1st September which was for Rs 1.97 per cylinder, and Rs 1.93 price hike on August 16, and Rs 1.98 for 14.2 kg cylinder on 1st July.
