TN to get seven new traffic police stations

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa today announced opening of seven new traffic police stations across the state. 

The new traffic stations will come up in Mamallapuram (Kancheepuram), Tiruthiraipoondi (Tiruvarur), Tiruthangal (Viridhunagar), Bodinayakkanur (Theni) and Padmanabhapuram (Kanyakumari), a release said. 

Chennai will have two stations at Valsaravakkam and Chemmanjeri.

The government ordered also to create 80 new vacancies for five inspectors, 10 sub-inspectors, 15 head constables, 15 Grade- I constables, 30 Grade- II constables and five Grade- II drivers to serve in these stations. This would cost Rs 2.71 crore annually to the State Exchequer.
