More rainfall expected in Tamil Nadu for the next 48 hours

Chennai received a brief spell of rain on Sunday due to the formation of an easterly wave. Data from the Regional Meteorological Department showed that Chennai airport received 26.6mm, whereas the city got a meagre 3.2mm.
According to a private weather blogger, the rainfall will continue for the next 48 hours across the state. As heavy rainfall has not been experienced yet, people have assumed it to be a failed monsoon. It is very early for a conclusion and according to models, it is an extended monsoon till January this time.
