Soon book metro rail tickets with debit or credit card

Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) is likely to introduce new facilities that will enable commuters to book tickets using credit or debit cards without wanting to spend cash. The CMRL officials are discussing this with senior officials.
 
Targeting to reduce traffic congestion in the Chennai city, Chennai Metro Rail services are set to get laid in two different routes, covering a distance of 45 km. Currently, the metro rail service connects Koyambedu, Airport, Alandur and Chinnamalai. Following this, metro rails services that runs underground is set to be inaugurated between Koyambedu and Nehru Park. Works are being taking place and it is likely that the inauguration will take place in three months.
 
Eliminating the need for to stand in long queues for getting their tickets booked, the smart card facility is introduced and already in practice. Making things simpler, the CMRL will soon launch the facility to book tickets using debit or credit card.
 
In a note about this, one of the high officials of CMRL said metro rail services in Chennai encompasses a distance of 19 km as of now. There are over 25,000 commuters using the metro train every day. In the other metro rail routes, the works are taking place in full swing and the entire work will be complete by the end of next year.
