O Panneerselvam sworn in as new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu

After the demise of Jayalalithaa, O Panneerselvam took oath as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister at around 1.15 am on Tuesday. Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao administered the oath of office and oath of secrecy to O Panneerselvam at Governor’s residence. For Panneerselvam, it is the third term as Chief Minister. Along with O Panneerselvam 31 Cabinet Ministers were also sworn in.  This entire ceremony was completed in 25 minutes. Governor C Vidyasagar Rao began the ceremony with a 2 minute silence.
 
Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, leader to many Tamils and `Amma` to millions, J Jayalalithaa died on Monday at 11.30 pm after undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospitals in Chennai for 73 days. She was 68. Apollo Hospitals officially announced her demise during midnight. In view of this O Panneerselvam took oath as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister.
