You can deposit only Rs 5000 in one bank account till 30.12.2016

Reserve Bank of India has issued a new rule with regard to deposit of the old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes. Old notes 500 and 1000 rupees can be deposited to a tune of Rs 5000 only in the bank account till 30th December and exchanged.Amount exceeding more than Rs 5000 can be deposited as per RBI rules only.
