The central government has announced that there would be no charges for all credit/debit card transactions in petrol bunks.
As per the press release by the Petroleum Minister Mr Dharmendra Pradhan today (Monday, 9th January), there would be no transaction charges for using credit or debit cards in petrol bunks.
There would be no charges for using debit/credit cards in petrol bunks. Neither the buyer nor the dealer will have to pay any charges for the transactions.
There would be no transaction charges effective even after 13th January.
In the press report, it was also mentioned that some of the issues between the petrol bunks and the banks still to be sorted out will be taken up for scrutiny and the issues will be resolved shortly.
