Very soon, Aadhaar Pay service will be launched for the people to make payments with Aadhar number and biometrics. According to what the Electronics and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, the Aadhar Pay service will be launched soon. This will aid cashless transactions. People will not have to carry their phones to make payments.
The customers can visit any merchant and provide their Aadhar number. They can verify themselves with biometrics and pay or receive funds, said Electronics and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad.
He furthermore informed that 14 banks have got on board to provide Aadhar Pay service. This will be very soon launched. They are also in talks with other banks.
Bharat Interface for Money which is the common platform to make quick payments with the help of Unified Payments Interface (UPI) is integrated along with Aadhar Enabled Payment System on Thursday.
Nearly 111 crore people in the country have got Aadhar numbers. About 49 crore bank accounts are linked with Aadhar. About 2 crore accounts are seeded with Aadhar month on month.
