The Reserve Bank of India has announced that it would very soon put new 100 rupees currencies in circulation.
The central government on 8th November 2016 had announced that 500 and 1000 notes will not be valid in order to abolish black money. New 500 and 2000 currencies were introduced. At this juncture, the RBI has mentioned that it will put new Rs 100 currencies under circulation.
Rs 100 denomination bank notes in the Mahatma Gandhi Series-2005, with the inset letter R in both the number panels, bearing the signature of Dr. Urjit R. Patel, Governor, Reserve Bank of India will be shortly issued by the RBI. The old Rs 100 under circulation will also be valid.
