Prices of cardboard boxes to go up

Kraft paper which is brownish colour is an essential commodity for manufacturing cardboard boxes. Cardboard manufacturing units have been deeply affected since the price of the Kraft paper has been increased. Apart from this, the supply has also come down. The card box industry in the country with 300 automatic units and more than 12,000 semi-automatic units is facing imminent closure due to this.
 
Indian Corrugated Case Manufacturers Association, President Kirit Modi while speaking on this said: Rs 18,000 crore card box industries are in terrible straits due to rising kraft paper prices and supply disruptions. The kraft mills are closing their plants now and then far a particular period which results in short supply of kraft papers. Under these circumstances, it has been decided to increase the price of the cardboard boxes by 12 percent and this increase would be passed on to consumers to sustain this impact. Hence central government should take steps.
