Reserve Bank of India has yet again announced that Rs 10 coins are legally valid. Hence, it has requested people to accept the coins without hesitation.

In a press release issued in this regard, it is said that Reserve Bank of India issues Rs 10 coins produced by the Indian government. Generally, these coins will be in use for long years. Thus, it is likely that differently sized coins will be in circulation. The notable change in the recent times is the introduction of rupees symbol starting from coins produced in July 2011. For example, there were Rs 10 coins with and without rupee symbol. Though these may look indifferent to have two different kinds of the same coin, both are legally valid.

It has come to our notice that a few people who lack enough awareness in this regard have caused threat regarding authenticity of these coins in the minds of people and retailers. We kindly request the people not to believe such threats and continue using these Rs 10 coins as usual.
