Very soon, government will start taking vigorous steps to promote women entrepreneurship. Among its initiatives is to conduct programs in the following weeks where mentoring and business capitals will be offered.

A small startup program focusing on pulling women into technology is now eyed on. In a few weeks from now, details of the program will be announced comprehensively.

This will hopefully get rolled out on 1st of April, said Aruna Sundararajan, the Electronics and IT Secretary while taking part at a Facebook event. The government is looking to develop new perspectives by getting into discussions with industry bodies like Nasscom and IAMAI.

To start with, ten cities are eyed on. This includes metros and cities like Pune, Jaipur, etc, she added. Three core areas of startup journey are the primary focus of the program. What are they?

First of all, the entire first experience of women while interacting with a startup incubator should be streamlined and the women entrepreneurship aspirant should be made to feel positive about it. When I got in touch with some of the incubators, they seemed very unfriendly. Hence, one of our primary focuses is to see whether this interaction can be made better and comfortable in any way.
