ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India) is set to impart training on the shortly-to-be-implemented GST (Goods and Services Tax) to 15 lakh traders.
The Head of the ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India) Mr. Manas Kumar Thakur explained that the central government is set to implement the proposed revised GST (Goods and Services Tax) from 1st July.
ICIA has got the license to train the traders on the proposed GST system. So far, ICAI has trained 400 traders regarding the procedure to implement GST. Within the next year, it targets to impart training on GST to 15 lakh traders.
Currently, 22 lakh traders are paying indirect taxes. Once GST is implemented this will increase to 70 lakh traders.
As per this estimate, ICAI has started training on GST regarding the procedure, filling up of application forms, etc. to the traders and the newcomers.
Apart from this, ICAI is set to create trainers for imparting GST knowledge. These new trainers also will be set to train the traders.
