The central government employees will go on 1-day token strike today (16th March) insisting on their 20-point demands on various issues.
The Federation of Central government employees Union had announced that insisting on the 20-point demands including withdrawal of new pension scheme, reinstatement of the old pension scheme, revising the basic pay to Rs. 25000, etc to on an indefinite strike from 1st July.
Subsequently, the central government team called the federation office-bearers for a discussion, It was informed that the demands will be gradually accorded. In particular, the federation had objected to the 7th wage revision board. A committee was formed to address this issue. However, even after 3 months after the formation of the committee, no solutions have come across.
So, the Federation has informed that all the central government employees will go on 1-day token strike today (Thursday, 16th March).
The Postal department, The Income Tax Department, Rajaji Bhavan, Shastri Bhavan, and Kalpakkam Atomic Power Station employees are all participating in this 1-day token strike. A total of 1.5 Lakh employees is participating.
It is naturally expected that a great deal of work and progress will be affected due to this 1-day token strike.
