Petroleum dealers have been insisting for a long time for an increase in the commission paid to them by the oil corporations.

Since there is no result even after a long wait, the petroleum dealers have taken an outright decision.

The general secretary of the Indian petroleum dealers federation explained about this. They are getting a commission of Rs. 2570 for selling 1000 litres of petrol and Rs. 1620 for selling 1000 litres of diesel.

However, the committee headed by Apoorva chandra had recommended that Rs. 3333 to be paid for every 1000 litres of petrol sold and Rs. 2126 for every 1000 litres of diesel sold.

The Indian petroleum dealers federation has demanded that the above recommendation must be approved and the increased commission should be given immediately.

Initially, the petroleum corporations gave a written assurance that they would increase the commission. However, so far, they have failed to act on this. So, the federation demands that the central government should take charge on the issue and the petroleum corporations must be made to act immediately on this.

If this is not complied with, the federation has decided to stop procuring petrol and diesel on 10th May and observe the non-procurement day on this 1 day.

From 14th May, the federation will keep all the petrol/diesel pumps closed on all Sundays.

From 15th May, the petrol pumps will function only between 8.00 AM and 6.00 PM.
